Introduction: I like to study and discuss on Aerospace engineering issue which is the engineering of designing, developing and testing aircraft, airspace and air missiles. This is the study of science which teaches the design and development of flying vehicles.

Not necessary only air plane and rocket will fly in sky but you believe it or not car will also start flying very soon! USA, Canada, UK, Israel, Australia, France, Japan have project on flying bus, car and this is not a fiction. These all are subject of aerospace engineering.

Aerospace Engineering is a couaerospace engineeringrse of four years duration. This course has two main branches: aeronautic engineering and astronautic engineering. Aeronautic engineering discusses design and development of aircraft operated in the earth but Astronautic engineering does both for air vehicles which are operated outside the earth.

Aerospace engineers are required to have a bachelor degree on aerospace engineering or another field of engineering or science studies related to aerospace vehicles. Some aerospace engineers work in the air force which is directly related to defense ministry so they need to have approval from the ministry and military training to survive in battle field.

Contents of the course:

The aerospace engineers need to be skillful in practical issues, good at math and computing. They are taught engineering drawings and principles during the course. Analytical skill is also an important part for them. Their course is a bachelor degree. Aspirants are advised to get into an engineering university. Both public and private university offer the course but not available at all institute. So I advice to follow some steps:


Student/training period:

  • Only every student with science background is eligible to apply for aerospace engineering but individual from other discipline is not. A candidate must to have good skill in math in order to be a good engineer. Like other engineering studies, aerospace engineering requires a sound knowledge on mathematics. But it is not enough! Everyone should concentrate on other fields such as numerical aptitude and physics related concepts such as gravitation, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, material science and solid chemistry and engineering mechanics. Those who have decided to be aerospace engineer at school life; it is a preliminary advice for them. Beside academic syllabus he/she should also focus on development of analytical skills. If possible then concentrate on developing innovative skills.


  • As aerospace engineering is not available at every university so you should chose mechanical engineering in case if your university does not offer aerospace engineering. Mechanical engineering syllabus covers some part of aerospace engineering.

  • During the study go for a summer trip in any aerospace industry. Keep contact with mechanical faculties because only they can provide you appropriate way.

Tips on professional aerospace engineering career:

  • Initially it is tough to join as an aerospace engineer until your instructor certifies your eligibility. During this time try to practice academic studies of physics and math that you have read from high school time. If further advices are necessary then make contacts with people who are already in this profession in several industries because you will not informed about everything just reading a book.
  • Make contact with people from air force and defense. These people have several contract jobs of aerospace engineering. As these fellows travel worldwide more than civilian employers for battle work so they have more problems in air crafts than the civilian air planes. So you will get a number of jobs contacting them. It is necessary to be physically fit for air force engineering so consult a doctor before you participate in the selection exam.
  • Engineers work 37 to 40 hours per week. Career opportunities exist with small and medium-sized businesses to multinational aerospace manufacturers, aircraft maintenance specialists, airline operators and the armed forces as I said before.


As a summary I can say practicing math, physics and chemistry will give a good result.
